Shaheen Group adopts Mahmud Gawan Madrasa in Bidar

The Mahmud Gawan Madrasa, built in 1472 by Mahmud Gawan, Prime Minister of the Bahmani Sultanate, was once a significant center of learning. It offered education in various fields such as theology, philosophy, astronomy, mathematics, and languages like Arabic and Persian. The madrasa housed a library with 3,000 books, a mosque, lecture halls, and accommodations for both students and teachers, drawing scholars from different parts of the world.

Under the terms of the MOU, Shaheen Group will focus on improving the site’s amenities. These include enhancing hygiene facilities like toilets and drinking water points, improving accessibility through pathways and ramps, and upgrading safety measures such as first aid stations and CCTV surveillance. Additionally, the site will see the introduction of cultural and educational features like a light and sound show, interpretation tools, and Wi-Fi services.
