In Karnataka’s Bidar district have been shops closed today (January 9) declaring a holiday with a bandh by various Dalit organisations. The bandh has been call to protest against the alleged remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah against Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha.
All government-aided, and unaided primary, high schools, and colleges in the district have been declared as a holiday by the district administration.
The bandh call has been supported by various organisations, and the district administration has arranged tightend police security measures to maintain law and order.
