Hyderabad Murder Case : Retired army officer kill wife, A former Army personnel, now working as a security guard, has confessed to killing his 35-year-old wife, dismembering her body and boiling the remains in a pressure cooker before disposing of them in a lake. The incident occurred in Meerpet, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Telangana, on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as VenkataMadhavi, had been reported missing by her parents nearly a week ago. According to a report, GuruMurthy, the accused, also lodged a missing person complaint at the Meerpet Police Station on January 18. During the investigation, police found that the couple had been arguing frequently in recent days.
After questioning Murthy, police said he admitted to killing his wife following an argument. He confessed to cutting the body into pieces, boiling the remains and dumping them in a lake in Jillelaguda.
Police have recorded his statement and are collecting evidence. Searches are underway to recover the body parts from the lake.
Murthy, who served in the Army before retiring, is currently employed as a security guard on an outsourcing basis at DRDO in KanchanBagh. He and Madhavi had been married for 13 years and have two children.
Officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and further details will be disclosed after evidence is gathered.
